Carolyn wants to be your primary eye care provider. Eyesight is Carolyn’s passion: she likes nothing better than helping her customers see clearly.

Carolyn took over the practice in 2014 from Dr. Paul Heavner, who founded the Brunswick Family Vision Center at 60 Souder Road in 1990. In 2015 we opened as The Public Spectacle at the new location, 15 East Potomac Street.

Carolyn is a 2007 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Prior to that, she was a licensed optician in the State of Virginia for many years. Between graduating from PCO and opening The Public Spectacle, she worked in private optometric practices in Virginia and West Virginia. She earned a B.A. from Lawrence University, B.S. and O.D. from PCO, and M.B.A. from George Mason University. She resides with her husband and her African Grey Parrot in Loudoun County, where they live in a historic stable building. In her spare time, she plays the fiddle and rings church bells.
